FOR YOUR INFORMATION...TETRIS IS HOLY

Of all the ways the Internet allows us to waste time I believe that classic computer games take the cake. Who hasn't played a game of solitaire this week? Nobody, that's who, so this is why I'm dedicating an entire post to my personal favorite computer game, Tetris!
If Leonerd Nimoy is God, Andy Warhol is Jesus, and Tyler Durden (from Fight Club) is the holy spirit, than Tetris is the lords prayer. Left key, left key, up, up, space.
Now go and pray my children- NEAVE GAMES.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION...I WANT THE FLU

I was doing a little online shopping on ThinkGeek.com and came across one of the cutest things that my eyes have ever behold. It was a flu plushie. If you are as excited as I am you need to calm down because not only is there a flu plushie, but a whole gang of adorable diseases! There is bad breath, chicken pox, the common cold, E. coli, swine flu, and every STD there is. Want to give your loved one syphilis without the consequences? How about Herpes? Kissing Disease? Gonorrhea? H.I.V.? Nothing says I love you like a deadly disease.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION...GEEK IS FRACKING CHIC

I was perusing the world wide web today and found a lovely article on geek chic; this was a wonderful surprise because I myself practice the art of geek chic. (My favorite purchase this month is a pair of glasses that remind me of ones some little nerd boy no doubt wore in the eighties.) To my disappointment, it's turned into a trend that any self respecting Regina George would follow, which is not 'geek' at all. The only way to be truly geeky is to know some obscure knowledge that no one else does, and I'm sorry Regina Georges out there, but make-up and partying don't qualify. You have to know things like Star Trek, Star Wars, Anime, Computers, Molecular Science, and other areas of intelligence that take time to appreciate and memorize. I spent a whole summer watching Star Trek: The Original Series and have endlessly read and obsessed over the human brain like a fracking zombie(♥'s to my Battlestar Galactica geeks). That is how to be a geek my friends, the clothes come naturally after.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION...I ♥ JAD + ROBERT

I've been subscribing to podcasts for years now, but I haven't found one as interesting, funny, and all together wonderful as Radio Lab. Radio Lab is a science podcast and radio show on WNYC hosted by two very cool dudes named Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich. You can subscribe via iTunes or just go to their homepage HERE.
They have over a hundred episodes now, so if your feeling a little daunted, I've made a list of my personal favorites. All of them are good, but these are the ones I always re-listen.
-Choice
-Darwinvaganza
-The Ring and I
-This is Your Brain on Love

FOR YOUR INFORMATION...SPIKE+VODKA=ROBOT LOVE

I just watched a wonderful short film directed by Spike Jonze (you may remember him for Where the Wild Things Are) called "I'm Here." Strangely, it's sponsored or something by Absolut Vodka, but it's about robot love...very, very sweet robot love.
If you would like to watch an amazing short film such as the one mentioned here. Click the link below to the online theater. Shows are playing every two hours (whatever that means).

FOR YOUR INFORMATION...ANDY WARHOL COULD PREDICT THE FUTURE

Do you know who I like? Andy Warhol.

Any Warhol was this strange creature, who despite being a quiet and shy man had an insane amount of impact on the flashy and gossipy world of pop culture. The only thing better than Andy is his art- which is based around the all-american idea of mass production; using screen printing he was able to make copy after copy of his work in a small amount of time. Also, his pictures of celebrities were spot on with the times new ideas on celebrity culture.

Oh, and they are pretty. That's sort of important too...

FOR YOUR INFORMATION...PICASSO WAS A NEUROSCIENTIST

As an artist myself, the idea that the mind prefers certain visual stimuli is not new, but neuroaesthetics seem to have 'unlocked the mysteries of the artistic mind' by pin pointing '10 principles of great art' . If you feel a tingle in your spine about these super amazing possibilities, please read this great article by John Lehrer in Psychology Today.
Unlocking the Mysteries of The Artistic Mind
When you've finished with that little bit of knowledge you can read up on culture v. happiness in this blog.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION...I LIKE ART (AND WINNING AWARDS FOR IT)

Hello! I just got back from my very first trip to NEW YORK! I won a *clears throat* National Scholastic Art & Writing Award for my NUBIAN IBEX (also known as a goat with large horns). Below is a link to my deviant art page where you can see my award winning piece and some other art as well.
DEVIANT ART LINK
The trip was fantastic. All seven hundred of the winners bowed together in Carnegie Hall to the classic and absolutely appropriate ballade of Lady Gaga's Just Dance.
Check out some more amazing art on the Scholastic website HERE. Please take a look at fellow North Carolinian and Gold Medal Portfolio winner Sally Baek, who made an amazing collection of paper hats. Congrats Sally!
