JUST SO YOU KNOW...I TELL MY STORIES WITHOUT NOTES

Oral storytelling is the root of literature. Think back to your freshman year of high school when your teacher explained that The Iliad and The Odyssey were originally told orally before Homer wrote them down as epic poems. If you thought the tradition was long gone than you are mistaken my friend, for there is a podcast just for stories 'told live without notes.' It's called The Moth (also affiliated with The Moth Radio Hour and The Moth Live). These stories range from funny to tragic, but the one thing they have in common is that they are true. Although sometimes that's hard to believe. Here is a link where you may listen online.
As always, here are some of my favorites.
-Irene Pepperberg: Alex & Me
-James Braly: Oliver's pink Bicycle
-Brian Finklestein: Jewish Blood. Irish Heart
-Simon Doonan: Fear of Squat
-Mike Birbiglia: Sleepwalk with Me
-Joe Lockhart: Impeachment Day
-Johnathan Ames: From Boyhood to Fatherhood
-Tom Weiser: Alternate Ithaca Tom
