IT MIGHT BE NICE TO KNOW...IN THE FUTURE WE WILL EAT AND SLEEP IN THE SAME PLACE AND IT WONT BE BECAUSE WE'RE EATING ICE CREAM IN BED

The wave of innovation has been on gaming technology and music portability for the past...long time, but I think that with the recession and housing crisis is going to come a new wave of ingenious ideas revolving around the home. The giant house phase of the nineties is gone and people are looking for more logical and affordable housing. This need for multiple uses of a small space is already inspired artists and inventors to come up with many ways to solve our housing dilemmas. The idea of a COMPACT HOME gives me butterflies...think of how little space there is to clean! :D
Anyway, many ideas are already being developed and tested...here are a few that I think are just lovely!
1. MICRO COMPACT HOME
This little baby is a 2.6 meter (8.5') cube that contains enough room and versatility for hygiene, cooking, working, sleeping, and eating. Not only does it take up less than 75 square feet, but it also has a eco-friendly option with solar panels! Those Germans, always thinking about the environment. If you'd like to buy one for yourself- check out the website M-CH
2. SLEEPBOX
Have you ever wished that your hotel room was a tad bit smaller? No- me neither, but I still find this compacted and simple box of Russian ingenuity rather fascinating. Even smaller than a M-CH, this guy pushes boundaries with a 2m (6.5') x 1.4m (4.5') floor plan including bunk beds, flip out tables, electrical outlets, and...yeah, that's it. Not as great as a fancy hotel, but perfect for hostels or airport layovers.

3. ROTOR HOME
So maybe the super compact and simple thing isn't your style, but that's okay because those crazy Europeans have done it again and created something unique and versatile. I present to you, the rotor home designed by the great Luigi Colani. It boasts not minimal square footage, but a useful rotating...rotator. It spins and makes the bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen available at the push of a button! Want a much better description? Click HERE.

  1. You should live in the rotor home. Why? Because it economizes space and looks like the inside of the space pod in The Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. And also, if I have kids, and I visit you, I can distract them with your house while we talk about science and myers briggs type indication.

And how dare you insult Ferbies, as far as I'm concerned, they're the greatest invention of the 21st century. "Feeeed meee."
